The latter are prohibitively expensive, even for a reader, which wont make sense in a Mac, and the former doesnt yet exist, as far as I can tell. The BR drives you see in notebooks for 150 are 5 notebooks using clunky tray loading drives. I cant see Apple going that scooby doo and the goblin king part 5 for an optical format that very few people will use. But Rose stated BR support in To me, that isnt about adding an internal drives to the Mac line, but simply adding software support for iLife and Por apps and letting users use the cheaper and faster external 3rd-party BRD for their media. It is good to dream about it, but thinking that apple just started to work on 6 is just very naive. Apple is probably working on 7 release by now. 5 was released to testing months ago. There is no indication of BD support even in next BTW, Apple was sitting on both chairs HD-DVD and BD, but none have been implemented. Apple was first to introduce CD in personal computer and they seems to be ahead of everyone this time by eliminating optical drives from computers in a similar fashion of floppy drives.
